The Algae Forest provides advanced nutrient and BOD removal using industry leading low energy requirements by harnessing the photosynthetic efficiency of algae. Specifically focussed on enhancing ammonia, total nitrogen and phosphorus removal from smaller system like lagoons and trickling filters facing capacity constraints or new nutrient discharge limits. The Algae Forest can be leveraged to cost effectively enhance the nutrient removal capacity of existing infrastructure while minimizing energy costs and providing an inherently carbon negative platform. The technology is best suited to upgrade facilities up with capacities up to 5 MGD/20 MLD, and particularly suited to cost effectively improving year-round ammonia removal performance in lagoon system.
